About Us
Bright Garden Voices is a grassroots initiative that provides platforms for constructive dialogue and activities between Armenians and Azerbaijanis.
History
The initiative was founded in January 2021 as a reaction to the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War and the lack of constructive exchanges amid heightened tensions among Armenians and Azerbaijanis in the region and around the world. We started our activities by hosting Zoom meetings around important topics where viewers from around the world could witness Azerbaijanis and Armenians with real faces and real voices engaging in civil dialogue.
Mission
To provide a platform where Armenians and Azerbaijanis practice active coexistence by working together to process trauma and address tensions, to embrace curiosity and respect for each other’s culture, history, and traditions.
Projects
We host online meetings and interviews, and hold in-person events around the world. Our activities are recorded, made available online, and circulated on social media in order to promote discussion and visibility around the issues covered.
Topics
We discuss topics ranging from social issues, historical events and gender to the state of civil society, arts, media, journalism, and the political dynamics of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
We facilitate inter- and intra-communal dialogue for this wide range of topics in order to foster more empathy and understanding among Armenians and Azerbaijanis.
We also seek to humanize each side to the other, and to promote discussion about politics and negotiations between the two states among civil society.
